Course Overview:

The Trauma-Informed Songwriting 6 hour course is an immersive and personalized program designed to provide participants with the opportunity to explore their healing journey through the creative process of writing and producing a song. This course combines the power of music, storytelling, and trauma-informed principles to foster personal growth, emotional expression, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.

Course Objectives:

  1. Understanding Trauma-Informed Songwriting: Introduce participants to the concept of trauma-informed creative expression, exploring how songwriting can serve as a powerful tool for healing and self-expression.
  2. Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment: Establish a trauma-informed space that promotes safety, trust, and respect for each participant’s unique journey. Emphasize the importance of consent, boundaries, and self-care throughout the creative process.

Course Format:

The course will be conducted in a one-on-one format, allowing for personalised attention and tailoring the experience to each participant’s unique needs and musical background. It will span six hours, divided into four 1.5 hour sessions to accommodate individual schedules and ensure a focused and immersive experience. 

Course Materials:

Participants are encouraged to bring their own musical instruments, if available, and any songwriting tools they prefer. Additionally, access to a computer with music production software (DAW) and a recording interface will be required for participating in this course. Participants will receive a course workbook with prompts, exercises, and inspirational resources to support their songwriting journey.
